Insects in any form can trouble every household and make even summer evenings when you want to enjoy sitting outside unpleasant. Thanks to modern repellents, however, you don’t have to worry about the presence of insects.

Electronic pest control devices, Insect repellents, come in many forms and can be used outdoors as well as indoors. However, the principle of operation differs depending on the location. In addition to repellents, there is also a large presence of insect catchers. Wasp repellents, which are used on wasp nests, are a separate chapter. Even in this case, you have repellents for outdoor and indoor nests.

Type

There are preparations available on the market whose task is to repel insects, these types do not kill insects. The second option is trappers, which, on the other hand, kill insects.

Repellent

The job of the repellent is not to kill insects, but to attract them. These are mainly various repellants or very well-known repellents that are placed in the socket. In addition to these, however, you can buy repellents in the form of bracelets or various pendants that are worn directly on the body. Their effectiveness is limited depending on the price and type. And finally, you can protect yourself with classic repellants.

Evaporative

A vaporizer is available at any drugstore or supermarket. A simple repellent is designed for an electrical outlet, which uses a chemical substance to repel, which starts to evaporate after being placed in the outlet. The insect is either poisoned or does not fly into the room.

Although these repellents are very popular, they are not recommended for long-term use, precisely because of the toxic substance, which is inhaled by everyone who stays in the room, except for insects. Small children, pregnant women, and pets are at risk. The inhabitants of aquariums are among the most endangered.

Ultrasonic

A less common variant is the ultrasonic repeller. However, it does not repel insects with a toxic substance, but with a high-frequency sound. It is harmless to humans but very unpleasant for insects. Ultrasonic repellers can also be used outdoors, they are often placed on the terrace or near swimming pools and are especially effective against mosquitoes.

However, it will not effectively rid you of all insects. Pocket repellers, which can be attached to a backpack or clothing, are also very popular. Protects mainly against ticks. Ultrasonic repellers like Pest Guard designed to remove insects are not very common, rather they are used to attract martens, dogs, or other mammals.

Other Variants

Repellents are not placed only in apartments or in a certain place. Their job is to provide you with the protection you need, wherever you go.

Among the favorites are various bracelets, the effectiveness of which ranges from days to weeks and are ideal for long-term stays in nature, be it a children’s camp or camping. And we must not forget about common repellants. Even these vary considerably in their effectiveness and may not always work on all insects.

Catcher

The trap is a type suitable for both outdoor and indoor use, which will get rid of all insects. However, this can be a problem, because not even bees or bumblebees are safe from it. However, if you are among those who suffer from an allergy to insect stings, a catcher may be a more suitable option for you.

The advantage of traps is also the fact that they do not contain dangerous chemicals that can be released into the air, and you can use them in closed rooms without any worries. You don’t even have to worry about noise or smoke, the traps will get rid of common insects, but also small flies, moths, and various bugs.

Whichever type you choose, you don’t have to worry about any demanding maintenance. In the first two cases, the insects can be simply dumped, in the third type you will change the adhesive tape as needed. The lifetime of a fluorescent lamp is in the order of several thousand hours, and the consumption is minimal in the catchers.

Trap With An Electric Grid – part of the trap is a fluorescent lamp with UV light that attracts insects. The grid, which is also part of the trap, then kills the insects with the help of an electric current. The disadvantage of these traps is the larger gaps in the grid, through which very small insects can safely get through, as well as the possible smell that spreads due to burnt insects. Killed insects fall onto the collection tray, which can be easily pulled out and the insects dumped.

Suction Catcher – here, too, insects are attracted to UV light. It will then be sucked into the catcher area, where it will die after some time. Thanks to this method, you will avoid a possible smell, but for some time you will be bothered by the buzzing of trapped insects.

Adhesive Trap – the latest type with UV light. After luring an insect into the area of the trap, it will stick, similar to what is common with a classic fly trap. Adhesive tapes must be changed regularly.

Location

Some traps and repellents can be used outside and inside rooms, in the case of others, the destination is given. All products have a precise description of the place of use, and you don’t have to worry about choosing the wrong product here.

The trap should ideally be placed 1 meter above the ground, stability must be ensured for larger traps, some can be hung on the wall.

Internal

It is possible to buy an evaporation repellent and different types of suction or design adhesive traps for indoor spaces. You can buy models in hanging or free-standing form, and thanks to their pleasant appearance, you will not fundamentally disturb the environment of the room.

Outdoor

Outdoor traps should rather be suspended. Focus on weather resistance with these types and you should also be interested in the range. In addition to them, it is also possible to use ultrasonic repellers.

Range

In addition to the location, you should also be interested in the range of the catchers. It can be purchased in different variants depending on the size of the room or outdoor space. The range is given in square meters. Ideally, it is advisable to choose repellents with a longer range, when you will be sure of a certain margin. It is mainly intended for outdoor use.

Wasps

Ordinary traps will protect you from individual wasps, but if you come across a wasp nest in your house or garden, you will need a special trap suitable for these occasions.

Outdoor Nest – Hanging traps are used for nests that are in trees or elsewhere outdoors. Wasp traps are attracted by their scent and are available in multiple sizes.

Internal Nest – for these purposes, it is advisable to use a chemical-based preparation, and you can also use the help of professionals. However, you should not irritate the wasps and proceed with caution.

Underground Nests – wasps can also have their nest underground. Also in these cases, chemical sprays, various powders, but also sulfur ignition wicks come into play.

Mark

The Everpest brand offers electronic repellents in various forms. You can buy quality traps from them. Evaporative repellents are manufactured by Raid, Biolit, Miteless, or Tickless. You can learn more about Pest Control products from the Evepest official website
