I graduated South in 1997 and I completely agree with upholding this suspension. Canton Local school district has prided itself in not changing their standards to meet the trends (like other schools in the area) and maintaining a focus on education and not fashion. If this kid gets to keep his hair, it opens the door for any “hair band wanna-be” to grow their hair long and claim to be donating it to charity wi h no actual intent to do so. I pushed the limits of hair length, and, when I exceeded the dress code, had to deal with the consequences. He should too.
