The treasurer for a group supporting a State Assembly candidate has reportedly resigned after a typo on a mailing to thousands of voters. Ben Akselrod is running against incumbent Steven Cymbrowitz in the 45th Assembly District in the Sheepshead Bay section of Brooklyn. The part of the text on the mailer that went out to Democratic voters said: “The current assemblyman has allowed crime to go up over 50% in our negrohood so far this year.”
