Two sheriff’s deputies are recovering Wednesday morning, after a nearly 15-minute gun battle with an alleged child molester at an apartment complex near El Capitan High School Tuesday. The deputies were injured as was the suspect. The gunfire at Ashwood and Mapleview streets in Lakeside erupted about 12:15 p.m., according to sheriff’s Capt. Duncan Fraser.
